Art Work by Peter Dettmers

With a background of more than 25 years designing and manufacturing furnishings for executive aircraft, Peter Dettmers first began showing the sculptures he crafts in his home studio in 2006. That year, his Fountain of Life lamp was chosen for display at the Palm Beach International Airport as part of the county's Art in Public Places Destination: Culture program. The exhibit--called "Flower Power"--extended from October, 2006 to February, 2007. That same year his lamp Wisdom was chosen from among more than 400 entries to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the Armory Art Center of the Palm Beaches. The Armory's 20/20 Exhibit featured twenty works from twenty artists and extended from December, 2006 through January, 2007. Since then, Peter has displayed his artwork at the Peter Meyerhoeffer Gallery in Lake Worth, the Olsen Studio in Jupiter and the Nathan D. Rosen Museum Gallery in Boca Raton.

Living in Jupiter Farms, Peter sculps for his own pleasure and by commission of special pieces. He works primarily in aluminum, finishing pieces with anodizing and gold and platinum plating. You are welcome to visit his website at www.metalstoneandlight.com
